On Wednesday a fourth NATO Northrop Grumman RQ-4D Phoenix remotely piloted aircraft is landed in Sigonella after taking off from Edwards AFB in California, US, following a 22-hour journey.

The arrival marks another step towards the completion of Nato AGS Force’s fleet of five total aircraft.

The third Phoenix was delivered less than two weeks ago.

Also in the past few days, the first operational drone missions have taken place on the Mediterranean: in particular, there were two different missions carried out over the eastern Mediterranean, south of Cyprus (callsign MAGMA10).

In the same area we’ve also tracked a NATO AWACS, probably the missions were organized to monitor an exercise by the Russian navy off Syria.
