This week 4 United Arab Emirates Air Force Lockheed Martin F-16s arrived in Souda Bay AB, Crete.
In the coming days, these aircraft and their crews will carry out joint training with the Greek Armed Forces and French Air Force over the Eastern Mediterranean.
“The jets will be deployed to Souda Air Base on Crete along with support staff, engineers and ground personnel and will carry out joint training with the Greek Armed Forces over the Eastern Mediterranean,” reported The Jerusalem Post.
The move comes at a critical time when Greece, Tukey’s tensions are at a peak.
The chief of Greece’s Hellenic National Defense staff talked with his Emirati partner, Lt. Gen. Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, on Thursday, Kathimerini revealed.
