This afternoon at 13:20 CEST an Hellenic Air Force Embraer EMB-145 AEW&C (reg. 757 – callsign OURAN41) left Elefsis AB, near Athens, eastbound. At 16:00 CEST the aircraf is returned to Elefsis.
The aircraft made a surveillance mission over eastern Mediterranean Sea between the islands of Crete and Karpathos near the area where the Turkish research ship “Oruc Reis” is making a new session of drills in the Greek Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), not recognized by Turkey.
The Turkish ship is now underway south of the island of Rhodes.
