It’s possible that this visit is linked to the future redeployment of Israeli Air Force F-35s in Amendola AB, home of the Italians F-35, in view of a joint exercise.
IAF F-35 jets will soon travel to Italy to attend an international combat drill, and as Israel has amassed much real-life combat experience with the jet, other countries taking part in the exercise are keen to learn from it.
