A Leonardo T.346A crashed at 11:40 CET in the area above Colico (Monte Legnone) near Lecco in Lombardy.

The aircraft, which had departed from Venegono Airport, a Leonardo plant, was probably on a test flight (the track of the flight on is available on FR24).

At the moment, it’s not known for sure who the aircraft belonged to, but it seems that it had not yet been delivered to the final customer (perhaps a foreign air force).
The serial number reported by Flightradar24 could be a database error.

The two pilots managed to eject themselves before the impact on the ground. Unfortunately, however, one of them was found dead, while the other is in a serious condition.
