Poseidon’s Rage exercise starts today

Airmen and aircraft from the 48th Fighter Wing are operating out of Souda Air Base, Greece for exercise Poseidon’s Rage, July 11-22, 2022.

F-15E Strike Eagles (of which we have tracked the flight last Friday) and F-35A Lightning II aircraft from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, together with F-16 Fighting Falcons from the Hellenic Air Force’s 115 Combat Wing, will participate in the exercise. This annual multinational training event is designed to bolster readiness and interoperability between the United States Air Force and HAF, by demonstrating localized air superiority through the incorporation of both live and inert munitions.

This is the second iteration of exercise PR and the first to feature the F-35 at Souda AB. The exercise will focus on the partnership between the USAF and HAF in order to validate F-35/F-15E deployment capabilities and integrate both fourth and fifth-generation fighter capabilities.
