A new day of surveillance missions for NATO assets based at Souda Bay AB:

  • an RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ664) is carrying out a SIGINT mission over eastern Romania
  • a USAF Boeing RC-135U (reg. 64-14849 – callsign HOMER11) carrying out a similar mission over the eastern Mediterranean. Like yesterday, today the aircraft descended to a very low altitude (even below 1,000 feet!). And then it orbited off the Syrian coast where the Russian military installations in Tartus and Latakia are located.
