Movements between Italy and Romania

This morning we tracked two flights from Italy to Romania performed by Italian Air Force assets: at 09:13 CET a Boeing KC-767A (reg. MM62226) left Pratica di Mare AB and landed after about an hour and a half at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base in Constanta; at about 09:30 CET a Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62293) also left Pratica di Mare AB for Mihail Kogălniceanu AB where it landed at 11:11.

At present, 4 Italian Air Force Eurofighters are deployed at the Romanian base, providing air policing duties within the NATO framework.

Interestingly, the arrival of the CAEW is a novelty, we will see if it is just a stopover or if the aircraft will be deployed for a period in Romania.
