British eyes on Libya

This afternoon an RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ664) from RAF Waddington is conducting a surveillance mission off Libya.

This is not the first time we have seen this type of mission but it is only the second time we have recorded such a mission conducted by a British aircraft (we are usually used to seeing EP-3Es and, more rarely, American RC-135Ws from Souda Bay AB). The first time was on November 2021 (see here the article).

The Rivet Joint first operated in front of western Libya and then flew in these minutes (16:00 CEST) off eastern Libya.
