Ionian Sea busy

For some days we have been recording a constant presence of USN Boeing P-8A on the Ionian sea: the aircraft conduct surveillance missions in the central area, between Italy and Greece.

The same thing happened this morning.

An Italian Air Force ATR P-72A (reg. MM62279) also operated in the area this morning, but we don’t know if it was engaged in a different mission or if it linked with the American aircraft mission (probably the first hypothesis).

the interesting thing is that at the moment, the only Russian submarine we know of in the Mediterranean is located in Tartus, from where, however, the Admiral Gorshkov frigate armed with hypersonic missiles is absent.

In this period the CSG of the USS Gerarld Ford (CVN-78) is located in the Adriatic between Bari and Bar.
