This morning, around 07:10 CEST, two Beech B.350 aircraft of the Italian Air Force left Pratica di Mare Air Base for Pantelleria.

The aircraft are the B.350 SPYDR (reg. MM62300) and a standard B.350 (reg. MM62317) that is used to provide logistical support to the SPYDR.

With this flight, it is possible that the SPYDR will be deployed for a period of time to Pantelleria Air Base (as has happened in the past) to carry out surveillance missions over the central Mediterranean.

The SPYDR is a highly specialized aircraft that is equipped with a variety of sensors and equipment for surveillance and intelligence gathering. It is capable of detecting and tracking ships, aircraft, and other objects at long ranges.
