At 11:45 CET, a Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton drone of the US Navy (registration 169661 – c/s BLACKCAT5) is landing at NAS Sigonella after operating overnight off the Syrian coast.

The MQ-4C Triton is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed for maritime surveillance and long-range strategic reconnaissance. Derived from the Global Hawk, the Triton can operate at high altitudes and cover vast areas thanks to its advanced sensors and extended endurance.

The activity of the Triton drone further confirms the strategic importance of the eastern Mediterranean. As geopolitical balances continue to evolve, military monitoring and surveillance remain fundamental tools for major powers in ensuring control and security in the region.
