[VIDEO] Dogfight over Aegean Sea

Greek media released a video showing a dogfight between an Hellenic Air Force Mirage 2000-5EG Mk.II of 332 Mira, departed from Skiro AB, and a Turkish Air Force Lockheed Martin F-16 over central Aegean.

According to Greek sources on 3 May two Turkish F-16s were harassing a Greek Army NH-90 that was transporting the Minister of National Defence Nikos Panagiotopoulos and General Konstantinos Floros around the Eastern Aegean islands of Oinousses and Agathonisi.

Two Hellenic Air Force Mirage 2000EG were scrambled from Skyros to intercept Turkish figthers. The video refers to this episode

In the video, you can hear the Greek pilot say to a second pilot that “I have him,” in reference to locking onto the Turkish F-16 jet he was chasing.

The Hellenic National Defence General Staff confirmed that on May 3 there were some violations of thr Greek airspace in the Northeastern and Central Aegean Sea by 10 (armed) Turkish Air Force aircraft.
