Surveillance mission this morning for this Hellenic Air Force Embraer ERJ-145 AEW&C (reg. 729 ).

The aircraft is departed Elefsis AB, near Athens, and carried out a surveillance mission west off Crete near the Athens FIR border.

The Greek AWACS is one of IRINI assets and and probably has operated for this.

The Operation, named EUNAVFOR MED IRINI  (Greek for “peace”) was launched on 31 March 2020 and extended to 31 march 2023. Its core task is the implementation of the UN arms embargo on Libya through the use of aerial, satellite and maritime assets.
