This morning the central Mediterranean was the scene of two interesting missions.
The first, perhaps the most unusual, was that of a USArmy Bombardier CL-60 ARTEMIS (reg. N488CR – callsign BRIO68) which took off from Constanta, Romania, and operated off eastern Libya. This is not the first time I have recorded such missions, but it is certainly something that happens very rarely (we last tracked it in September 2021).
Also this morning, an Italian Air Force Beech B.350ER SDYR (reg. MM62300), which took off from Decimomannu AB orbited the island of Pantelleria for about an hour, before returning to its assigned base, Pratica di Mare AB
